579,266. Picking-up-tools. CROSSLAND, A. G. Sept. 22, 1944, No. 18094. [Class 61 (ii)] A picking - up tool comprises coiled spring wire outer and inner sheaths 1, 2 secured at their lower ends to amount 6, jaws 4 being fixed to the upper end of the sheath 2 and normally springing open, but drawn downwardly by the longitudinal tension on the sheath 2 into contact with the flared end 3 of the sheath 1 so as to be closed thereby, the jaws 4 being opened by a rod 12 threaded at the end 14 to engage the constricted part of the inner sheath.
