578,857. Endless-chain conveyers. McDONALD, J., and G.W.B. ELECTRIC FURNACES, Ltd. March 20, 1944, No. 5182. [Class 78 (i)] In a furnace conveyer comprising a plurality of endless chains driven by sprockets on a common shaft, independent tensioning gear is provided for each chain at its return end comprising a gravity - loaded jockey. In the embodiment shown, each chain 1 at its return end passes over sprockets 6, 9 on fixed axes, 7, 10 and a jockey sprocket 8 mounted in bearings carried by a rectangular casing 12 housing weights 13.
