Abstract
577,271. Removing superfluous hair. KERR, E. Aug. 29, 1944, No. 16361. [Class 81 (ii)] In a depilatory device of the kind in which the hairs are gripped between the coils of a spring, the axis of the spring a is co-axial with a telescopic holder, the members of which are attached to, or bear against, the ends of the spring. In the form shown in Fig. 3, the spring is normally in the open state and is closed by telescopic movement of the parts e and f, a rod c being attached to the part e by a pin d sliding in a slot i. In the alternative form shown in Fig. 6, the spring is normally in the closed state and is opened by telescopic movement between the parts e<1> and h', the rod c' being attached to the part h<1>. The outside surfaces of parts e and e' may be knurled to facilitate operation. According to the Provisional Specification the spring end of the device may be protected by a removable sleeve.
