Abstract

647,036. Hair curlers. DEHN, S. G. (Gaylord Products, Inc.). Sept. 15, 1948, No. 24267. [Class 131] A hair curler similar in construction to that described in Specification 620,345 comprises a rotatable member 11 formed with a pair of hair-engaging fingers 13; 14 and provided with axially spaced shoulders 29, 31 between which is a bearing surface 24, of reduced diameter, for an expansible collar 26 formed on a hair-confining arm 27. The collar is split at 28 and one end of the member 11 is of such size that the collar may be axially assembled on the bearing surface 24 which is slotted at 32 for resilient engagement with projections 33 on the collar to allow step-by-step rotational movement of the arm 27 relative to the member 11. After complete coiling of the tress the arm 27 may be rotated to rest against the head to prevent uncoiling or a bob pin may be inserted in the usual way and the curler removed.
