Abstract

701,452. Hair waving appliances. GILLETTE SAFETY RAZOR CO. March 16, 1951 [March 18, 1950], No. 6342/51. Class 131 [Also in Group V] A hair curler of moulded plasti c material comprises a rod R and a clasp C. As shown, the curler is being ejected from apparatus in which the two parts, made by an injectionmoulding operation, have been assembled see Group V). The rod has a ball B at one end and a socket in its other end surrounded by notches N. The clasp has a pair of spaced flanges F at one end, in which are holes O, and a tab T at the other end. The ball B is pressed between the flange F and snaps into the holes O and the tab T is received in the socket N<SP>1</SP> and the rod R thus held against rotation by the notches N. In use, the clasp C is swung back and the tab T released from the socket N' and the rod R is turned on its axis in the curl-forming operation, after which the tab is re-inserted in the socket to lock the curl against unwinding.
