Abstract

465,659. Hair - curlers. SOLOMON, N. L. Jan. 1, 1937, No. 94. Convention date, Nov. 14, 1936. [Class 131] In a hair-curler of the type comprising a tube 11 with a hinged hair clamp, a plug 21 rotatable with respect to the tube is inserted in one end, the plug being bored at 25 to receive one limb 2 6 of a hairpin, the other limb 28 being maintained at an angle-thereto by an exterior surface of the plug. The plug is formed with a reduced portion 22 and is maintained in position by an annular indentation 19 and a lip 24 on the tube. The periphery of the reduced portion is slotted at 29 to hold the limb 28 of the hairpin. In a modification, Fig. 4, the plug 21 extends as far as the hinge pin 13 and is kept in position by the pin and by a shoulder 23 co-operating with a shouldered sleeve 30 secured by the hinge pin. In operation, hair is wound on the curler and the formed curl is transferred to the hairpin.
