Abstract

496,075. Hair - waving devices. WATSON, R. M. July 12, 1937, No. 19238. [Class 131] In curlers for use in permanently waving the hair, before the hair is wound on a rod 1 a sleeve 6 is moved back against a spring 8 along the rod 1 until the stepped end 10 engages a slot 11 and is locked by a quarter turn. After winding the hair, the sleeve 6 is released and its end 7 compresses the coiled hair which is tied at the tip 3. One end of the spring 8 bears on a head 5 secured to the central stem 4 carrying the slotted tip 3. An expanding spring 14 permits one-way rotation of the rod 1 relative to the part 3.
