Abstract

830,316. Hair-waving appliances. PERMA. March 19, 1958 [March 25, 1957], No. 8794/58. Class 131 A hair curler comprises a resilient foil 1 rolled to form a sleeve with spaced overlapped ends 2, 2a, frusto-conical plugs 4 being inserted in the ends of the sleeve to partially unroll the sleeve and increase the diameter for hair to be wound thereon. On removal of the plugs the curler contracts inside the coiled tress and can be removed without disturbing the hair. In modifications one edge of the foil has hairretaining teeth 3 and a resilient hair retaining loop 7 is pivoted on one plug and has a bail 5 received in a recess in the other plug. The foil, which is preferably metal, may be perforated to aid the distribution. of the treating liquid.
