Abstract

564,437. Hair curlers. HILL, G. E., and DENNETT, T. R. April 27, 1943, No. 6650. [Class 131] A curling device comprises a rod a to which is preferably pivoted at c a concave arm b between which and the rod a the tip of the hair tress'is clamped prior to winding the tress on the rod &c. The rod a also is provided with an undercut groove k within which lies one limb l of a hinged clip, the other limb o being opened as shown. The tress is wound upon the rod a including the limb l of the clip. When fully wound up the limb o is swung over and locked by means of the catch m on the end of the limb l, whereupon the tress upon 'the clip is disengaged from the rod &c. by a relatively sliding movement.
