576,997. Travelling grates. NEWTON, E. P. (Detroit Stoker Co.). June 30, 1944, No. 12510. [Class 51 (i)]- In a travelling grate comprising bars A detachably mounted on pins E projecting laterally from a driving chain D, the bars are formed with spaced depending lugs C having forwardly-directed bayonet slots F to receive the ends of the pins E, the latter being prevented from rearward displacement by a removable washer G which embraces the pin and is formed with a lug G<1> engaging the entrance to the slot F. The washer G is held in position by a second washer H and a removable cotter pin I.
