576,343. Universal joints. KEITH BLACKMAN, Ltd., and WOODLEY, D. S. Jan. 15, 1944, No. 812. [Class 80 (ii)] A flexible coupling comprises an elastic body formed as an annulus of U-shaped cross-section, the limbs of which are parallel to the axes of the rotors to be coupled and which are permanently bonded thereto. As shown, hubs A, D<2> are carried by the ends of adjacent shafts. A ring B is bolted to a flange D on the hub D', and the annulus C is bonded to the members A, B. The annulus C may be of rubber, rubber and canvas, rubber and felt, or rubber and leather or the like. -
