[Class 142 (iii)] [Also in Group XXIII] The process of forming wooden blocks described in the parent Specification in which rotary-cut veneers are arranged in a stack with the grain of the individual veneers parallel, theveneers are treated with a binding material and after consolidating the veneers pressure is applied edgewise of the veneers across the grain to complete the consolidation, is modified by increasing the edgewise pressure relatively to the normal pressure, so that a greater degree of consolidation is effected in the edgewise direction. The material so formed is especially adapted for the production of shuttles for looms, which it is stated can be made with thinner walls and so accommodate larger spools thus permitting of longer runs without refilling.
