Abstract

200,425. Elmendorf, A., and Marx, R. J. Oct. 23, 1922. Veneers. -A sheet of pulpboard 19 or other material is coated with thin green veneer from rolls 13, the upper one of which has a movable bearing. The sheet is glued before being passed between the rolls. The thickness of the veneer in the case of walnut, for example, is of the order <1>/60 of an inch, for the purpose of obviating cracking, and the core is used in a drier state than the veneer. Instead of applying the sheet directly to the rolls of veneer, pressure rollers may be used.
