Abstract
569,518. Laminated veneers. KREMER, A., and RACHLIS, M. Nov. 26, 1943, No. 19811. [Class 145 (ii)] To form a laminated veneer or plywood in which the characteristics of the veneers and adhesive layers are accentuated, a laminated material formed of a number of layers 10, Fig. 2, is sheared at an acute angle along the line 11, to produce layers 12, Fig. 1, which may be formed with crossed grains to produce a herring- bone effect. In a further modification, a plywood formed of square lamine 10, Fig. 6, is sheared to form a concave spherical surface so as to form a number of annular rings of greater width than the thickness of the layers 10, these rings being separated by sections of glue greater in width than the thickness of glue used to join the layers 10. Ornamental effects are thus produced.
