574,572. Centrifugal pumps. COLLING- WOOD, R. G. Feb. 28, 1944, No. 3658. [Class 110 (i)] Each blade a of a centrifugal pump carries rubber sealing devices b to prevent foreign matter from entering the clearance spaces. Each member b is substantially L-shaped in section, with one limb curved to fit the face of the blade and the other inclined outwards slightly to press against the casing: the latter limb may have a concave outer surface to improve the seal. In impellers where the blades are fixed on a disc, the sealing members may be of I-section, fixed to the edges of the blades.
