Abstract

574,398. Piezo-electric crystals. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and LEWER, S. K. Aug. 11, 1943, No. 12986. [Class 40 (v)] A piezo-electric element suitable for precise frequency control comprises a bevelled circular plate 1, for example AT or BT cut quartz, held by a ring 4 against a circular plate electrode 2. The upper electrode 3 is in the form of a. bar extending diametrically across the crystal and arranged for rotation on a journal 3<1> about an axis 5 perpendicular to the centre of the crystal. By rotating the electrode 3 a small frequency adjustment can be made, the maximum variation of frequency being covered by a rotation through 90 degrees.
