Abstract
1288863 Clocks and watches GES ZUR FÍRDERUNG DER FORSCHUNG AN DER EIDGENÍSSISCHEN TECHNISCHEN HOCHSCHULE 4 Feb 1970 [5 Feb 1969] 5403/70 Heading G3T A mechanical vibrator for a timepiece comprises a resilient ring 11 which has two axes of symmetry A, B and carries masses 12 which vibrate in opposition along the axis A. For fine turning, secondary vibrators are provided which comprise spring arms 2, 2<SP>1</SP> carrying masses 3; 3<SP>1</SP> and which may be angularly adjusted with respect to the ring 11, on their rotatable support pins 1, 1<SP>1</SP>. Alternatively the pins 1, 1<SP>1</SP> may be fixed and the masses 3, 3<SP>1</SP> may be longitudinally adjustable on the arms 2, 2<SP>1</SP>. The arms 2 may be of a material of which the change of length with temperature is such as to compensate for frequency changes of the ring 11. A number of embodiments are described in which the masses 3 are threaded or eccentrically pivoted on the arms 2 or are omitted, and in which the arms 2, which may be at right angles to the plane of the ring 11, are mounted on individual pins 1 Fig. 6 (not shown) or form a single member strung between two such pins Fig. 9 (not shown).
