Abstract

1,182,379. Clocks and watches. H. MEYER. July 12, 1968 [Aug. 2, 1967], No.33470/68. Heading G3T. A mechanical oscillator particularly for regulating a timepiece, comprises a rotor 2 mounted to oscillate about an axis M and connected to a support member 1 by at least two springs 3, 4 crossing each other at the axis M and each having one end fixed to the support member 1, as by a platelet 5 and a screw 6, and the other end fixed to the rotor 2 at the other side of the axis M. Two mutually perpendicular springs 3, 4 only are provided in the embodiment illustrated in Fig. 1, in which the oscillations are maintained by an electromagnet 11 co-operating with two projections 2a on the rotor 2. Alternatively three springs may be provided spaced angularly at 120 degree intervals. In a further embodiment two oscillators. having parallel axes are driven by a single electro-magnet, and in another two oscillators are arranged coaxially.
