Abstract
539,047. Piezo-electric crystals. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd. April 29, 1940, No. 7660. Convention date, April 29, 1939. [Class 40 (v)] One of the major surfaces of a piezo-electric crystal vibrating in its thickness mode is ground to form two surfaces such as 2b, 2c sloping away from the central region of the crystal, to reduce spurious resonance, and a further surface 2f may be ground on to adjust the frequency. Many modifications are described in which the angle of bevel is varied, or the ridge is not central, and in which the surfaces are curved. Specification 441, 438 is referred to.
