436,407. Piezo - - electric crystals. TELEFUNKEN GES. FUR DRATHLOSE TELEGRAPHIE, 12, Hallesches Ufer, Berlin. July 9, 1934, No. 20145. Convention date, July 21, 1933. [Class 40 (v)] A piezo - electric crystal of small thickness is cut so that its plane contains an axis Y, perpendicular to both the optic axis Z and the electric axis X, while its normal n makes an angle # with the optic axis Z such that a temperature coefficient of zero is obtained. The angle # is related to the temperature coefficient, Fig. 4 (not shown), and lies between 40 and 50‹ or 117 and 128‹ for zero temperature coefficient. The dimensions of the plate may be such that the oscillations determined by thickness are coupled with oscillations determined by other dimensions to modify the temperature coefficient.
