632,515. Piezo-electric crystals. WESTERN ELECTRIC CO., Inc. March 21, 1947, No. 7805. Convention date, April 4, 1946. [Class 40 (v)] A plate of ethylene diamine tartrate (C6H14N2O6) for thickness shear mode operation is oriented such that the normal to its substantially parallel major faces lies within the octant defined by the +X, +Y, +Z axes of the mother crystal. When the orientation is as shown the maximum value of piezoelectric coupling is obtained.
