Abstract

573,501. Automatic guns. VESELY, J. June 10, 1941, No. 15551/42. Divided out of 573,210. [Classes 92 (ii) and 119] Relates to change-fire devices adjustable to the single-shot, automatic fire and safety positions and of the kind in which the adjustable device in the form of a rotary lever or cam 24 alters the inclination of a tripping link 17 arranged between the trigger lever 14 and an apertured sear 21. In the lowest position, the link 17 holds the sear in the off position to produce automatic fire ; in the intermediate position, the link 17 moves through the aperture in the sear without operating it, and, in the highest position, the projection 19 on the link 17 is in the path of the breech block 12 and the lever is tripped from the sear to permit of firing a single shot. According to the invention, the front portion of the link 17 is normally to the rear of the aperture 22 in the sear and releases the sear by exerting a pushing action on the parts of the sear nearest the trigger. Further, the rotary lever or cam 24 is mounted on the pivotal axis of the sear and engages the link 17 between the projection 19 and the sear-engaging end of the link.
