Abstract

573,438. Automatic regulation. JENNINGS, R. E., and FOSTER TRANSFORMERS & SWITCHGEAR, Ltd. Oct. 25, 1943, No. 17521. [Class 38 (iv)] To obtain constant voltage from an A.C. circuit in spite of changes in frequency, a transformer or other constant voltage device T1, comprising a high reactance associated with a condenser, a reactor L1 and a capacitor C1 in series are connected between one terminal of the constant voltage device and one of the load terminals c so as to form a combination resonant at the normal or average supply frequency, and a second reactor L2 is connected in parallel with the load. A second capacitor C2 is connected to the constant voltage terminals. The arrangement shown comprises also a low voltage derived from the supply and in series opposition with the output across terminals c, d.
