Abstract

1325361 Microwave oven circuits C E M TIBBS 19 April 1971 [5 Jan 1970] 474/70 Heading H2H A supply circuit for a microwave oven comprises a magnetron valve 7 supplied by a leakage reactance transformer 2-4 via a bridge rectifier 5, the rectifier output being shunted by a capacitor 9 which capacitor is adapted to protect the circuit from voltage surges caused by fluctuations in the current drawn through the valve 7 in combination with the reactance of the transformer secondary 4. A series capacitor 6 or a valve equal or less than shunt 9 may be included between the seondary 4 and the bridge 5 and a further inductance (10) or (10<SP>1</SP>) , Fig. 3 (not shown), may be included in thesupplylead to the valve 7. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), two series capacitors (11), (12) having substantially equal capacitances are connected across the output of the rectifier (5), the secondary (4) of the transformer being connected across one capacitor (11) such that a voltage doubling arrangement is produced, capacitors (11), (12) serving both the obviate the effects of varying currents through the valve (7) and also variations in supply voltage.
