573,431. Electrodeposition of metal on aluminium and its alloys. SPECIALLOID, Ltd., and CANN, A. A. April 2, 1942, No. 4418. [Class 41] [Also in Groups II and XXVI] Pistons formed of aluminium and aluminium alloys are subjected to anodic treatment and then coated by electro-deposition with a metal other than that forming the body of the piston. The metal coating may be that of a metal possessing a considerable degree of ductility or one presenting lubricating characteristics or one which is wear-resisting. Examples of coating metals are tin, tin-alloys, lead and chromium and according to the Provisional Specification also zinc, cadmium and zinc-cadmium alloys. The metal coating may be impregnated with oil or other lubricant. Specification 290,903, [Class 41], is referred to.
