Abstract

573,388. Conveyers. AVELING-BARFORD, Ltd., and HENDERSON, W. M,. Oct. 26, 1943, No. 17669. [Class 78 (i)] A conveyer apron comprises two or more endless belts 10, which may be of leather, rubber, fabric or laminated combinations of these materials, and closely-spaced crossmembers 11. These members are made of metal tubing having flattened end portions 11a which are riveted to the belts. The apron is driven by sprocket wheels 13 which mesh with the cross-members. The sprockets may be connected by rods 14 to form a squirrel-cage structure. These rods eject any substance which has become lodged between the crossbars. The tail end of the apron is supported by small diameter discs 15 mounted on an idler shaft 16. The upper run of the apron may be vibrated by rotary members 17.
