Abstract

481,923. Endless belt conveyers. SUTCLIFFE. Ltd., R., and SHEPPARD, J. Jan. 16, 1937, No. 1334. [Class 78 (i)] In a conveyer of the kind in which the material is carried on the lower run of the belt. this run, after passing over the delivery drum, is deflected to one side to clear the oncoming carrying portion of the belt and is then turned. upwards and over to travel back to the return drum. One end of the strip from which the belt 1 is made is twisted through 180‹ before it is connected to the other end. The conveying stretch extends from the underside of the drum 4, Fig. 1b, to the top of the discharge drum 3, Fig. 1a. After passing around the drum 3, and over the various rollers 2 of the driving head 7, the belt 1 is guided by a series of relatively inclined rollers 9, 10 and 11 so that it passes rearwardly to one side of the conveying run and upwardly to the return idlers 5. The rollers 9, 10 and 11 are mounted adjustably in frame sections 12, 13 and 14 which are interconnected detachably by pin and lug fastenings 17. Pulley type rollers 15, 16 guide the edges of the belt.
