Abstract

572,513. Reciprocating pumps. TECALEMIT, Ltd., and LE CLAIR, C. C. S. May 17, 1943, No. 7850. [Class 102 (i)] A lubricating or other reciprocating pump comprises one or more cylinders each containing a piston which performs slow suction strokes and quick discharge strokes and/or in which a delay is imposed between the discharge and suction strokes Each plunger 84 is driven against a return spring 85 by an electromagnet 81 which is provided with a make-and-break device operated by a rotatable control member, which receives its motion from a driving or driven part o: a vehicle or machine. Ir the form shown, a flexible shaft drives a cam shaft 1 through a worm 79 and worm wheel 78. The can. 77 is circular except for a raised part 86 which co-operates with a fixed contact 82 connected to the cam through an electric supply source and the winding of the magnet 81.
