Abstract

675,327. Reciprocating pumps. WAKEFIELD & CO., Ltd., C. C. June 23, 1950 [July 1, 1949], No. 15719/50. Divided out of 675,305. Class 102 (i) In a lubricating pump, driving eccentrics 15 are mounted on a shaft driven by a ratchet mechanism and provided with a holding ratchet and the pump plungers 13 are arranged in pairs, are parallel, and on opposite sides of the eccentric. Each eccentric is arranged in an opening 80 in a cross member 81 to which the plungers 13 are attached and a wearing plate 82 is attached to the cross member; a plug 84 housing a plunger pressed by a spring into contact with the eccentric is also secured to the cross member. Each plunger has a head 90 and is inserted into a slot 88 in the cross member and the head is also contacted by an abutment 91 that is screwed into the cross member and held in position by a plunger 93 engaging one of a number of grooves 92 ; adjustment of the abutment 91 varies the stroke of the plunger. The cross member is guided on rods 94. In a modification, the wearing plate 82 is replaced by a disc inserted in the cross member and a cylindrical member extending from the cross member is guided in a bore in the casing.
