Abstract

572,225. Vehicle wheels. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd., and BUTLER, H. J. June 28, 1944, No. 12249. [Class 144 (ii)] Rims.-In rims of the kind having a detachable side-flange 3 secured by a split ring 8 which is provided with a collar adapted to engage registering recesses 4, 5 in the rim-base 1 and the side-flange, the collar is now slidably mounted on the ring. As shown, the ring is fitted with one fixed collar 6 and one sliding collar 7 adjacent its ends. The sliding collar is secured by a grub-screw 10a engaging a slot 11 in the ring. In modifications, the sliding collar is of channel section, the end-walls forming stops for co-operation with a headed rivet or other protuberance on the locking-ring. In the arrangement shown, the stem 9 of the tyrevalve is led out through the gap in the locking- ring 8.
