Abstract

571,839. Two-part couplings. DORMAN & SMITH, Ltd., ATHERTON, T., and LUND, J. Jan. 11, 1944, No. 513. [Class 38 (i)] In an electric plug socket, the live pin sockets 9 and 10 are mounted below the earth pin socket 6 on an insulating base 5 and are separated by insulating barriers 8, 13, 14, each socket being secured to a slotted terminal block, one of which 11 is situated directly behind the socket 9 and connected to a similar aligned block 16 by a strip 15, each of these blocks receiving one end of a severed connecting wire. The socket 10 has its terminal block 12 extended so as to bring its slot clear of, but parallel to the other two in order to receive the unsevered wire. The base 5 is chamfered at 23, 24 and the inside of the cover correspondingly shaped so as to facilitate connection of the cables.
