571,389. Photographic developing and fixing compositions. BOBERG, J. N. Jan. 10, 1944, No. 461. Convention date, Jan. 2, 1943. [Class 98 (ii)] A combined photographic developing and fixing composition comprises a standard developing and fixing part and an activating part, the latter containing triethanolamine with or without trisodium phosphate. A fine-grain developing-fixing composition comprises as standard part metol, hydroquinone, sodium sulphite, sodium tetraborate, and hypo, and as activating part triethanolamine and trisodium phosphate, the two parts being mixed together and diluted. In another developing-fixing composition, the standard part comprises metol, pyrocatechol, sodium sulphite, and hypo, and the activating part triethanolamine. In a developing-fixing composition for super finegrain work, the standard part is similar to that in the first composition, and the activating part triethanolamine. Reversal may be effected by exposing the photographic material to light while immersed in the bath and immediately prior to commencement of fixation.
