Abstract

571,117. Wireless receiving apparatus. BROOKES, N. E. (Tobe Deutschmann Corporation). Dec. 14, 1943, No. 20943. [Classes 40 (iii) and 40 (v)] [Also in Group XXXVI] A wave filter, comprising a pair of condensers of the rolled foil type and an inductance connected between the insulated foils of the condensers, is characterised in that the inductance and instated condenser foils are supported by rods which pass axially through the condensers and through insulating bushes in the earthed casing of the apparatus, to form the external connections. The insulated foils of condensers 20, 21 are attached to plates 28, the other foils being attached to a common earthing plate 29. Rods 25 pass axially through the condensers and are fixed to the case 34 by means of disc 40 swaged or otherwise attached to the rod 25, the threaded terminal 24 and insulating washer 41 and bush 37. The terminal 24 may be shaped to fit a corresponding hole in the bush 37, which may have a shaped projection fitting a corresponding hole in the casing 34 to prohibit rotation when assembling. The condensers 20, 21 are supported on the rods 15 by nuts 32 which also support and connect the inductance 22. The mounting is self-sealing and the casing 34 may contain oil if desired.
