583,954. Mounting circuit elements. HAZELTINE CORPORATION. July 1, 1944, No. 12573. Convention date, Sept. 15, ,1943.- [Class 40 (v)] [Also in Groups XXXV and XXXVI] A device for mounting a circuit element on a supporting structure of a radio receiver or the like is constructed to reduce to a minimum the length of the connecting leads of the elements and to reduce stray capacitances. The device comprises a socket shaped to receive the element and to support it throughout a substantial portion of its length and may be of resilient conductive material. In the example shown in Fig. 2, the device is constructed to support in a socket 10 a standard metalcased byepass condenser C. Of the condenser leads L<1>, L<2> one lead L<1> is internally connected to the metal case and is brought out for connection to a suitable ground terminal, while the other lead L<2> is insulated from the case. An integral projection 13 extends from the lower end of the socket 10 and has a flange portlon 14 which carries a hollow externallythreaded screw 15 and nut 18. A skirt 16 formed integrally with member 15 and including a keyway 17, Fig. 3, which engaging with a projection S<1> of the supporting structure S locks the socket 10 against rotation. Electrical connections, with the mounting device may be made through notched terminal lugs 19, 20. Additional connection with the element C is available through the internal bore of the member 15 which may be fitted with an insulating sleeve 21. The socket may be used to support other circuit elements, for example induction coils or resistances.
