Abstract
1,172,816. Fuses. TELEFONAKTIE. BOLAGET L. M. ERICSSON. 12 Dec., 1966 [10 Dec., 1965], No. 55641/66. Heading H2G. A fuse arrangement suitable for an impregnated heavy current capacitor comprising a number of parallel-connected capacitor elements in a common fluid reservoir, makes continued functioning of the capacitor array possible by disconnecting individual short-circuiting elements, and comprises fuse wires 2 of, e.g. silver, arranged substantially geometrically parallel in a matrix of heat-resistant insulating fabric of, e.g. glass-fibre, artificial resin, asbestos or the like. Along one longitudinal edge of the matrix are woven a number of tinned copper wires 4 interconnecting the fuse wires 2 and to which a common conductor 6 may be soldered at 5. Dielectric spacers 3 alternate with the fuse wires 2, and have a diameter larger than the thickness of the matrix. The free ends 7 of the fuse wires are connected, in use, to the capacitors forming the array.
