Abstract
571,040. Supporting cycle lamps. UPTON, G. W. March 8, 1944, No. 4300. [Class 75 (iii)] A cycle lamp 16 having windows for projecting a white light forwardly and a red light rearwardly from a single light source is attached to, the shorter limb 14 of an L-shaped arm having a longer slotted limb 12 secured by a screw 18 and nut 20 to the cycle frame or to an article mounted thereon such as a battery casing 17 mounted on a bracket 31 carried by the rear fork of the cycle frame. The arm may be adjusted to offset the lamp from the cycle frame to a variable extent or to turn the lamp when not in use towards the cycle. The light source may be an electric bulb and the battery casing a conventional cycle lamp casing provided with a switch 26, a flexible electric lead 24 being led from the bulb to an adapter plug 25 screwing in the bulb socket of the casing. An extension 27 of the plug 25 carries a cover disc 28 for the casing hood.
