Abstract

570,525. Actuation of switches. PRICE & SON (STAMPERS), Ltd.. T., and PRICE, E. E. Sept. 13, 1943, No. 14967. [Class 38 (v)] When the water level in an electric kettle or like device falls below a certain amount, springs 27, operating against' the reduced weight, cause the kettle to tilt and separate contacts 39, 41 in the heating circuit. The amount of tilt is limited by stops 24, 25 between which the flange 15 of the supporting plate 13 moves. The position of the contact 39 may be adjusted by a screw 35 which varies the position of a wedge 36 arranged between the bottom of the kettle and the plate 32 carrying the contacts.
