Abstract

570,515. Magnetic separators. THOMPSON, H. H., DAVIES, A. E., and THOMPSON, M. D. Dec. 30, 1943, No. 21868. [Class 72] An electromagnet is combined with a grizzly used for grading ores so that tramp roller iron in the ore is trapped and retained in the grizzly. A grizzly, preferably of the shape shown in Fig. 3, has bars a carried by a frame b having projecting lugs c to which are bolted or otherwise secured plates e which are welded to the limbs of a horseshoe electromagnet d. The winding f is wound on a former fitting over a core 9 provided on its lower end with a pole h and the portions of the magnet relative to the grizzly may be adjusted.
