Abstract

570,016. Securing fywheels to shafts. ELLIS, E. D., and FOWLER & CO. (LEEDS), Ltd., J. Sept. 23, 1943, No. 15583. [Class 80 (ii)] A flywheel 9 is secured to a flange 1 on the end of a crankshaft 2 by bolts 10 which pass through plain holes 11, 12, in a flange 8 on the flywheel and in the flange 1 and screw into an annular ring 3 formed in two or more parts. As shown, the ring parts 3 are secured to the flange 1 by screws 4, the heads of which pass through clearance holes 7 in the flange 8.
