Abstract

569,803. Stuffing-box packing. COOK, F. F. and POLLARD, E. Nov. 12, 1943, No. 18880. [Class 122 (v)] In a packing ring of substantially N cross section the end faces 1a and 1b of the inner limb are inclined so that the said limb is pressed inwardly when a set of such rings are compressed. The outer limb 2 may be inclined to the inner limb. The ring may be made of rubber, synthetic rubber or other similar plastic material or of asbestos and fabric impregnated with rubber, plastic and bituminous substances.
