Abstract

568,678. Two-part couplings. WATSON, F. (Aktiebolaget Elektrolux). April 1, 1943, No. 5222. [Class 38 (i)] A plug or socket member attached to a cable 14 is made up of a contactcarrying base 10 and a cover 11 having between. them a laterally-arranged gap to receive the cable in an oblique position. The cable end is bent and is gripped by the serrated portion 18 opposed to the base. The cover 11 fits within a peripheral wall on the base and rests and pivots upon inclined ribs 24, the peripheral wall being heightened at 20 in the region of the cable-receiving gap. The cover is secured by an eccentrically placed screw 17 passing through a hole 21 which is flared to allow angular adjustment of the base and cover to accommodate cables of different sizes.
