Abstract
567,258. Copy-holders. HASTLE, R., and FERGUSON, D. M. Nov. 11, 1943, No. 18752. [Class 100 (iii)] A line-indicating bar for a copy-holder is held in position by magnetic means. The copy-support includes a rectangular frame 1, Fig. 2, having side-bars of magnetic metal, against which is held a cross-bar 4 carrying magnets, the poles 5 of which contact with the side-bars. The cross-bar carries a hinged flap 14 forming a line-indicator, along which slides a clip serving as a column-indicator. A rail 10 supports the copy. The frame 1 rests against a back-plate 7, which is supported by a strut 13 and has a hinged lower part 6, to which the frame is fixed, so that it can be turned down into a horizontal position over a book containing matter to be copied, as shown in Fig. 7. The cross-bar 4 is then placed on the rear side of the frame 1, which is supported by a flange 9. The cross-bar may be fitted with wheels or rollers to assist its movement. The back-plate may have a horizontal slot, through which turned-back leaves of a notebook can be passed.
