567,025. Thrust bearings. SMITH, J. STEWART-, and BURNS, Ltd., J. Aug. 16, 1943, No. 13238. [Class 12 (i)] A two-part or segmental bearing for railway axles, rolling mills or sugar crushers has one or more endthrust parts slidably moved into or out of interlocking action with the main bearing or a support therefor. The bearing 5 consists of fine cotton fabric impregnated with a synthetic resin and has dovetail engagement 3 with the main casting 1. Journal bearings 4 of similar material are received in grooves 2. Bearing 5 retains member 4 in position and is itself maintained curved edge, or it may be screwed or otherwise secured to the casting.
