[Classes 75 (ii) and 75 (iv)] The paraboloidal surface of the reflector of a vehicle lamp is modified on both sides and im-. mediately above a horizontal plane containing the lamp axis or conical auxiliary reflectors d, d are supported by a spider e clamped between the body and front of the lamp to produce a wide splay of light from the lamp bulb c arranged at the focus of the reflector. The lamp bulb c preferably has a U-shaped or semicircular filament t lying in a vertical plane with the central or lowest part of the filament on the lamp axis. An additional filament to produce a long-range beam may be provided below the lamp axis. The reflectors d may have flat, concave or convex surfaces and extend back to or slightly behind the transverse plane containing the lamp focus. Specifications 288,898 and 327,540, [both in Class 75 (ii)], are referred to.
