Abstract

566,094. Coating metals. PYRENE CO., Ltd., CLIFFORD, W. J., and ADAMS, H. H. June 7,1943, Nos. 9120/43 and 5169/44. [Class 82 (ii)] A powdered composition suitable for forming a phosphate coating on a metal comprises a phosphate such as zinc dihydrogen phosphate and 5-15 per cent by weight of one or more of nitro-guanidine, o-nitraniline and o-, m- and p-nitrobenzoic acids. If other ingredients, such as copper compounds, are also used, the powdered ingredients above are mixed first. The addition of these substances to phosphate solutions is described in Specification 510,684.
