[Class 44] [Also in Group XXXVI] A lead 8 is attached to a sheet-metal terminal 7 by shaping the shank 1 of the terminal to form a hooked tongue 3 and bending up the shank until the tongue passes partially through a slot 2 formed in a raised portion 5 of the shank. A hole 4 is formed in the bent shank, the lead 8 being passed through the hole 4 and into the hook of the tongue 3 beneath the part 5. The resilience of the bent shank causes the tongue to grip the lead.
