Abstract
565,791. Automatic feed weighers. BRIAN, F. C. April 6, 1943, No. 5451. [Class 143] Relates to an automatic weighing-machine wherein the-goods platform 9 is provided with' an upward extension A for supporting the bag. or container and for tripping the feed gate, and consists in providing a catch G for supporting a compensating lever 12, the catch being connected to the feed gate so that it is released upon opening of the feed gate and thereby allowed to bear upon the platform or on the extension thereof. The feed gate 4 is opened by a handle 5 and is retained by a catch 6 locked by a trip trigger 10, 10a. When the platform 9 descends; a roller C on the upward extension A displaces the trigger, and the feed gate by virtue of its weight pushes the catch 6 aside and falls into the closed position. 'To test the weighment, the compensating lever 12 is raised on to the catch G. When the feed gate is again opened a slotted link I displaces the catch and places the compensating lever in action. The neck of the feed hopper is provided with plates forming a diamond-shaped aperture which may be varied in size to adjust the flow.
