562,116. Optical systems. KODAK, Ltd. (Eastman Kodak Co.). March 8, 1943, No. 3754. [Class 97 (i)] A wide angle objective for optical projection consists of three simple air-spaced elements I, II, III, the element III on the long conjugate side being negative, the other elements being positive, and the spacing between elements I and II being greater than half the focal length F of the objective. The element III may have its more strongly curved surface towards element II and be spaced from it a distance between .1 F and F. The elements I, II may each be biconvex, preferably equiconvex. Data are set out for two examples of the optical system shown, including an optical compensator plate 14, for projecting an image on a screen 17 of a film in a gate 13; illumination is by a lamp 10 and condenser 12.
