561,737. Making composite slabs. INVAG AKT.-GES. Aug. 7, 1942, No. 11084. Convention date, July 28, 1941. [Class 87 (i)] Composite building slabs comprising a foundation plate of earthenware or other material coated with a layer of xylolite (a mixture of calcined ground magnesia, magnesium chloride and a filler) are made by the following method : on a table are placed carrier grates each of which supports several foundation plates arranged side by side. Xylolite is applied to the plates and the grates with their coated plates are removed and stored in racks. After the xylolite has hardened to a state of stiff plasticity, the grates and plates are removed to another table where the xylolite is smoothed and compressed by a trowel. Finally the xylolite layer is divided along lines corresponding to the plates. The grates may be provided with webs which separate the plates from each other, or the plates may carry webs. The xylolite may contain asphalt or other water-repellent emulsion. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 states that instead of xylolite, artificial resin may be used. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
