Abstract
559,646. Lamp reflectors. PERROT, DUVAL & CIE, SOC. ANON, July 15, 1942, No. 9818. Convention date, July 28, 1941. [Class 75 (ii)] A device for illuminating roads, crossings, workshops halls &c. comprises two metal reflecting surfaces 1, 2 of high reflecting and slight diffusing power so shaped that their radii of curvature increase from the top to the bottom and fitted with a light source L adjustable a'long the optical axis of the reflecting surfaces to positions in which a plane passing through the light source at right angles to the optical axis intersests the lower reflecting surface. The central part of the field below the device is consequently illuminated mainly by the direct rays e from the light source and the more remote parts of the field by the reflected rays a, b, c, d and approximately uniform illumination is obtained without strong lines of demarcation between the zones of direct and reflected-rays. The reflecting surfaces may be made in one piece and may be coloured. In cross section the reflecting surfaces may be circular, elliptical, rectangular, polygonal or trough shaped and the light source may be rectilinear.
